Pastor Timothy M. Griffin Sr.

Pastor Timothy M Griffin Sr. born Timothy Mark Griffin to Otis Powers and Lillie Robinson on April 16, 1969 in Nacogdoches Texas. He was the youngest of five siblings and the only boy in the family. At the age of four his mother wanted a better life for her and her six children so she uprooted them and moved to Houston, Texas, alone with her six children. Pastor Griffin at an early age had morals, obedience, respect and love instilled in him, as his mother worked a full time job by day and attended college by night. By the age of seven, Pastor Griffin was given the nickname ( Lil Timmy) because he was a skinny little boy, but had a big heart and cried about having to eat torn light bread.

Pastor Griffin's mother was a Jehovah's Witness which limited many of the things that he and his siblings were allowed to do or partake in as children. Even though his mother was a Jehovah's witness and worked by day and attended college by night. She made sure that he and his siblings attended services twice weekly at the Kingdom Hall, where he learned to quote the books of the bible and sparked his curiosity about God. Pastor Griffin found a love for God that was indescribable and certainly genuine so much so that he would sneak out and attend the services at the local community church( New Community Missionary Baptist Church where The late, great L A Kennedy was the pastor) Pastor Griffin found himself at awe with Pastor Kennedy and the NCMBC family. By the age nine (Lil Timmy) Pastor Griffin had begun play preaching and praying for many people in the community and the word spreaded through the community fast. Pastor Kennedy heard about it and started having (Lil Timmy) pray publicly at church before the congregation. Although scared (Lil Timmy) obeyed every time he was called upon, and as a result Pastor Griffin found himself filled with a passion and love for God, people and the church.

During this season in Pastor Griffin's  (Lil Timmy) life many of the people in the community would call (Lil Timmy's) mother when they were experiencing some of life's difficult times and ask if he could come into their homes and pray for them. Pastor Griffin developed a strong compassion and deep rooted love for people and a eagerness to learn more about the God  the farther, God The son and the Holy Spirit. Being that Pastor Griffin's mother being a Jehovahs witness he was confused at a young age as to which faith, denomination of religion and christian belief was genuine and tangible. At age eleven Pastor Griffin had settled in his heart and mind that he believed in the trinity and wanted to live his life as a christian rooted in faith of the  trinity, Pastor Griffin was inspired to ask his mother if he could be baptised into the Baptist faith to serve the one and only true living God.Pastor Griffin's mother allowed and agreed to allow Pastor Griffin ( Lil Timmy) to convert religious beliefs and culture to the Baptist faith, where he accepted God as his personal savior and was soon thereafter baptised by the late Pastor L. A. Kennedy at New Community Missionary Baptist Church now the ( Fellowship Of Enlightenment) Pastor Griffin then became very active in the church ( Sunday school, morning worship, bible study weekly and joined the youth choir whereby he would have many late nights at church after long days of school and having to walk home alone late night down a busy one lane gravel road ( North Wayside Dr.) in the community of Lakewood, Pastor Griffin ( Lil Timmt's) mother halted his involvement in most church services due to concerns for his safety. This put (Lil Timmy In a sad and un- happy state of mind and angered him, for months he was not a happy child and longed to be once again actively involved in the church but could not convince his mother that he would be safe at coming home late at night. Then God sent a angle into pastor Griffin's life in the person of Margaret Keys Shepherd whom saw a sad (Lil Timmy) and his love for church and came to Pastor Griffin's (Lil Timmy's) home to talk with his mother and she vowed to his mother that if she would allow him to attend church services, she ( Margaret Keys Shepherd) would personally pick him up and return him home safely after services and his mother agreed and from then on it was a lot of  churchin, weekly services, revivals and midnite musicals and this gave Pastor Griffin a joy that could not be explained and allowed him to experience genuine love, kindness and compassion from a non- family member but a true child of God and Margaret Keys Shepard kept (Lil Timmy) in church for many years that fueled his desire to be all that he can be in God's kingdom. As Pastor Griffin got older he decided after graduating from M.B. Smiley high School he wanted to pursue higher learning but could not afford it financially so in 1987 he enlisted in the United States Armed Forces ( Navy)  where he quickly rose to the rank of Petty Officer !st Class. In the year of 1990 Pastor Griffin began singing for God, he joined the NCMBC choir under the leadership of the late great (Phyliss Kennedy Taylor) then became a member of New Children of Christ, Reborn and sang with some of the Gospel greats like the Late Pastor Paul Jones, The Late Pastor Elvin Stewart and sung on several albums with Pastor John P.
